王岩中教授是医疗大数据和健康信息学领域的国际知名专家，特别是在重大疾病预测模型构建方面具有突出贡献。研究领域包括：

  • 大数据健康信息学，大型流行病学研究和临床试验（RCT）；
  • 重大疾病的预测模型；
  • 脑卒中的流行病学和预后；
  • 人工智能诊断辅助系统和精准医学；以及
  • 统计基因组学和遗传学。

  • 他是世界著名医学杂志Lancet Healthy Longevity 和PLOS Medicine的统计学编辑，全球疾病负担研究（GBD）项目高级合作研究员、 英国国家健康与护理研究所（National Institute for Health and Care Research, NIHR）国家级博士奖学金评委。

开创性研究

  • 2024年3月在柳叶刀子刊（IF 21）发表了卒中后抑郁自然史的18年追踪报告，被‘每日邮报’等数十家英国媒体广泛报道。  2020年3月发表了英国脑梗的死亡风险和趋势16年追踪报告（PLOS Medicine），被世界知名媒体新科学家（New Scientist）和英国镜报（Daily Mirror）做了详细报道。 
  • 2019年5月在意大利米兰的欧洲脑中风大会（ESOC）上，在5000人主会场发表获奖演讲 “欧洲脑中风负担：发病率，流行率和死亡率的30年预测”  
  • 2017年主持编写了欧洲脑中风负担报告，并在欧盟议会做了专题报告。 
  • 2016年主持搭建了 “世界首创急性肝衰竭动态预测模型” ，目前已广泛投入临床应用，相关内容已发表在柳叶刀杂志。
  • 2014年主持编写了烟草统一包装对吸烟人群健康影响的独立调查报告，并于英国国会做了专题报告。这项研究导致了2015年5月烟草统一包装作为法律在英国全面实行。  
  • 2013年发表了英国脑中风发病率20年追踪报告，被世界知名的 ‘每日邮报’， ‘先驱者报’和 ‘镜报’做了专题报道。
